The Bird Island-Olivia Community Foundation is organized as a community fund of the Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, which allows gifts to the BIOCF to be tax deductible to the full extent of the law. SWIF provides technical assistance to ensure Bird Island – Olivia Community Foundation’s success, in addition to coordinating compliance with all state and federal charitable giving regulations.
The Bird Island – Olivia Community Foundation has a local advisory board responsible for establishing its purpose and priorities, as well as building relationships with donors and grant recipients.
